Default Headers?

I'm thinking about putting a set of headers on my 4.0L V6 EFI Ranger, but i'm not sure how much they would actually help. Since its not a huge engine that sucks a lot of air i can't decide if they'd be worth the investment. Any suggestions or advice?

Default Re: Headers?

When you ordered them. The auto parts house should have asked you all of the information needed to order the correct headers for your auto. Like if your car was equipped with power steering A/C ect. So you would get the right headers so you would not have to modify the headers. I would go back to the parts house and ask if they ordered headers for a car with power steering or with out. If they ordered for with out have them to reorder for with.

what year is your truck? in my experience unless you get a really good deal on headers they arent worth the price. a few years back i put a set of JBA headers on my truck and for the amount of work they took to install and the small gains in power and sound i noticed, they werent worth it. unless theyve gone down significantly in price since than i would use that money towards other mods like a tuner or something. just my 2 pennys.

he never said he ordered them, he said he was thinking about getting a set. also having AC and power steering has nothing to do with ordering headers for these trucks and as far as i know any ranger made any later than the 80's has power steering.
