Re: New Exhaust
I hate to shove it everyone's face since i'm still honeymooning over here, but I just got this done today. FM super 44 side exit.
Let me know if you have any questions. I'll try to get a vid up soon, but there are plenty on youtube with a similar setup.

Re: New Exhaust
I have the 40 SI/DO on my 3.0 and love it. Pretty decent rumble at low rpms and not overly loud.
This video sucks and you can hear my loud air intake over it but it might give you an idea.

One doesn't automatically sound "better" than the other - It's personal preference.
Here is a chart that 'rates' the popular Flowmaster mufflers from the most "aggressive" to the most "mild" sounding:

I think it depends on how loud you want it. The Super 44 is suggested for V6 because its note is a little more uhhhh "rumbly" I guess? Works better for the less powerful 3.0L V6. I hear mine a bit more in cab because it's that much closer being a side exhaust. The vids on Youtube will give you an idea, but unfortunately nothing will sounds exactly like it will on your truck.

I've heard the 40 series is better sounding and louder? But I honestly don't know.

Re: New Exhaust
Thrush Welded, SI/DO, custom exhaust. 3.0 that doesn't sound like rice, and no drone. Moderately loud, nice rumble when getting off throttle, no popping or crackling.

Thank you! I had that put on in March of last year. The pipes are "aluminized", and not showing any rust, yet.
