Default flowmaster exhaust

Would like your opinion on these mufflers. Don'really care about a lot of noise, but would like a little better performance from my truck.

i have the 40 series 2 chamber delta flow on my 95 4.0L and i love it, not too noisy in the cab at higher rpms but it sounds aggressive on the outside.

if you don't want it to be as loud but a little power bump look at a borla or gibson they are both very nice

I'm not sure how a flowmaster fits into the equation if you don't care about noise and only want performance...

Will not really see much performance gain on your truck with just an exhaust. The delta series are quieter. Have not heard a super 40 personally so not sure how that compares with the flow 40 original which is what I have.

what do you mean when you say you are looking for more performance?
HP
TQ
MPG
There are alot of equations that go along with that process.
Type of Intake, Type of plugs, types of headers and finally mufflers and cats.
Generally when looking for performance mufflers are not the way to start.
Many distributors prey on the ignorance of the public.
If Muff co. says this muffler will give you 15 more HP, this is a loaded statement. It should state that with the right setup this muffler will unlock 15 more HP. Think about engines and how they function, back pressure will increase your torque, so a muffler could help with that but as far as actually producing anything, no.
I would recommend you start with plugs and wires, then a cold air intake, then depending on whether you are looking for HP or TQ go for headers, or Muffler, possibly both. In closing, generally you should start at the beginning of the process and finish with the end. HTH

very true^^ unless you change the whole air flow system, not much will change performance wise.

A Super 40 w/o a tailpipe, gets pretty damn loud. My buddy had one in his truck, once we hit 3rd gear the vibration from the sound made everything rattle. I'd go with the 40 Standard Series.
