New Exhaust
Looking to get a dual exhaust here real quick for my 2003 4.0L. So the question is should i get a Super44 or a magnaflow? Thinking of getting 2.5" in/out good idea? And both are 14" in length but 20" overall and are about $10 apart. Which one will sound better and give me the best performance?

Re: New Exhaust
Magnaflow will deliver slightly better mpg's, yet less sound and depth. The case will last longer as I believe all Magnaflow muffs are stainless?
Flowmaster will deliver slightly less mpg's, yet alot more sound and tone depth. The case life will be lower than the Magnaflow unless you get stainless, which is not available for the Super 44 at this time.

Re: New Exhaust
so are you saying the super44 will give me less mpg than what i already have stock or that compared to the magnaflow? and tom i cant do that cuz i live in cali where we have just about every damn smog law and have to have a muffler and everything

Re: New Exhaust
its mostly personal preference the mpg gain/loss is very minor. i'd personally say go with the magnaflow though, i just prefer the sound, but its all really up to you. youtube sometimes helps to get a good comparison.

Re: New Exhaust
I like my flowmaster. Its funny to pull up to work and some guy standing outside smoking really thinks I have a V8 in it...side by side you can definitly tell its not a V8...but Ive had people ask me if I had a V8 in it more than a few times.

Re: New Exhaust
flowmasters gurgle, yes. Only time they pop is under deceleration....like say your WOT, then downshift it and let off the gas. It's not so much a pop at all, it's more of a gurgle. I actually kinda like it.

Re: New Exhaust
me too aha..so im still kinda lost on the mpg part i get about 15 right now so with magnaflow it should increase somewhat and flowmaster will it not increase as much as the magnaflow or will i get less than 15 mpg?

Re: New Exhaust
you won't lose any unless you go crazy like 3" duals. The gain will be very minimal, if any at all. I like to say with the flowmaster, you won't lose any, but you won't gain any either. I saw no mpg change in all my muffler changes....I saw changes when I had a tailpipe, dumped it, tailpipe again, dumped it. I did exhaust for sound reasons, not economy reasons. lol.
