i got the wrong size exhaust

[2000 ranger 4.0]

Recently i just baught a flowmaster original 40, but without thinking i got a 2.5" instead of a 2"wich is what i need. Instead of attempting to return it would i be able to bring it to an exhaust shop and have them neck it down or do they not have the tools to do that. Also if they can how much would it cost because if its like any more than $20 i would just say forget it sence i only payed $40 for the muffler

Where would they sell them. The only place i could really think of is like mills fleet farm

2 1/2"-2" adapters and exhaust clamps probably 8$ total

Yes im deffinatly thinking of using clamps. Where could i find some because if i ever wana take it off it would be really easy

any auto parts store should have them there is an advanced auto around the corner that I go to and I see them there

Their is a Napa by my house but they rarly have like anything so should i even try there
