Default Flowmaster 40 series question

I'm still new to the forums, I've read alot but haven't really posted anything..

anyways to my question, kind of a problem kinda not it's just bugging me. I have a 2.3l 03 ford ranger, i messed up the exhaust a while back by doing "straight pipe" but i went from a 2" pipe to some thick pipe to 2" again, jus cut the muffler straight off. I took it to a performance exhaust place and got a glasspack install to fix that and i hated the sound after a while and went to a flowmaster 40 series. That one is 2.5" si/so, but I still have my 2" piping before and after it. He just put pieces from larger pipes to I guess cushion the 2" piping, there are no gaps now and it was all welded shut and the pipe is in the dead center in and out, have had no leaks or any problems(mpg did drop some from what i got with the glasspack). what I'm wondering is this 2.5" si/so 40 series ok or bad for my ranger, should I go and buy a 2" si/so 40 series for my truck instead?

It should be fine. The flowmaster is probably a little bit more free flowing than the glasspack though.
