Default Headers or Manifolds

I have just a simple question: whats the difference between headers and manifolds?

Thanks in advance

Default Re: Headers or Manifolds

manifold top / header bottom

----------

manifold *usually* cast steel. stock factory. *usually* doesnt leak at the bolt flange. prone to poor exhaust gases flow. can crack. tucked close to the engine.

Header. *usually* tube construction. better flow / performance. prone to gasket blow out at flange due to heat and cooling.

Thanks. I was always confused as to what the difference is and could never find any good answers. And pictures always help too.
