I am looking to get a deeper sound in my ranger but do not want to spend a lot of money. Is there any modifications I could make to the stock exhaust and air filter to achieve this ?

Search for airbox mod. Basically, you take the snorkel and silencer off/out of the stock CAI and it will have a more aggressive sound. A catback exhaust with Magnaflow muffler and 2.5" pipe sounds good and is not too loud.

I just picked up a borla pro xs muffler less aggressive then a magnaflow but more aggressive then stock with next to no drone in the cab. That will make it more aggressive if it's currently stock now. X2 on the air intake mod most of the time it will also make a noticeable difference in how aggressive it sounds.

Borla is an excellent choice, again with 2.5" pipe.

anything i can do just to the stock exhaust ? like route it out in front of the rear tire ?
