Re: 3.0 v6 want a more aggressive sound, suggestions???
Not all of us have a "dented95ranger" some of us like to keep a good tough nice truck not for babes (I'm married) just for myself maybe I should change my name to "not dented nice clean tough powerful good sounding truck" anyway I'm ordering my super 40's.

Re: 3.0 v6 want a more aggressive sound, suggestions???
Lolz, everyone gets butthurt by a sarcastic comment on here. Who in their right mind would weld together tin cans? (ricers maybe hehe)
And yes, my trucks a beater but she's my beater and I love her And I take better care of it then anyone ever has, while still using it as a truck. And I bought it with the dents, which have consequentially been pulled out as of now, so I guess I should change my name to "not so dented, but still not perfect ranger that cost me less then a pair of new kidneys".

Re: 3.0 v6 want a more aggressive sound, suggestions???
I got a 3.0 with all store bought exhaust pipe and a 15$ hooker suoer comp muffler from ebay, i have 2.5" pipe from the cat to muffler and 2" out the back with a Y pipe split into dual exhaust with 3" tips. Ppl ask me if its a 4.0, i had a SI/DO muffler setup but it drops exhaust velocity on a small motor too much which kills torque, the 3" tips are 2 feet long and make the exhaust tone alot deeper!

Id have to agree with the SI/DO cause torque loss mine feels noticeably more powerful with the SI/SO side exit than it did with the SI/DO

agreed. However i have a flashpaq tuner that actually works better with my si/do exhaust without it tho I feel the drop in TQ.

Just cut the muffler off and buy a tip with some back pressure lol mines dumped out eh side and it sounds like a race car. To pass safety inspection I welded a wider piece of pipe behind the cat to look like a muffler and got away with it because the truck isn't actually that loud without a muffler

Re: 3.0 v6 want a more aggressive sound, suggestions???
Last time i ran to the parts store without a muffler i had about 6" of pipe after the cat and it sounded like a V8! I had 3 ppl try to race me at red lights lol i might have beat them if my exhaust wasnt half gone, talk about no torque!

Yeah, not sure if its the proper terminology but I had a shop run it, they set up the piping and routing and place ment. I just told them I wanted it out the side before the rear tire and the last cat removed and they made it happen

Re: 3.0 v6 want a more aggressive sound, suggestions???
I unbolted my pipe at the muffler and drove it like that for a few weeks, and it sounded almost like a V8 at idle. lol. I wouldn't advise that though, because you do lose backpressure. It was very loud when I hit the gas though. Too loud...
