You can ALWAYS bump the size of the pipe right there where it slips in.....I'm running a 3" in/dual 2.5" out muffler.....but running 2.5" pipe and 2.25" pipe.
No shit Shane. You think I didn't know that you're stupid. I just happen to have a dealer's catalog here and yes they do make all different sizes. I was refering to a kit which they offer for Ford Rangers. THAT SITE IS IN MY FAVORITES LIST. I visit everyday. And plus here's another thing. He's talking about a 4.0. I have a 3.0 and I did notice a power loss with mine being too big.

You visit the flowmaster website everyday? really? lol.

I invite everyone to go read your post where you don't mention ANY kit at all.....sounds totally like you're just talking just of the muffler. And it would make sense because everyone else here is talking of just the muffler....not a kit. See also 3.0 vs. 4.0...no mention of that until I called you out. Go read it yourself....

I thought this thread is about a 4.0 OHV and one guy with a couple other guys asking questions who all have 4.0's.....

I mentioned the kit as an option that he might be interested in Shane. The reason I visit Flowmaster's website everyday is because I'm trying to get a dealer's liscense and I'm also seeking sponsorship. I've been in touch with them for about a week now. Plus these guys aint the only ones I've been in touch with either. Not that it's any of your business mind you.

Yeah. SI/SO offset inlet/center outlet #42441. Took about 3 days and a 2 hour trip down the interstate before It sounded good. Right after I got it put on I was thinking it was a mistake but I went out and drove the hell out of the truck and it has definitely improved.

Who's fighting? Just a little bit heated from passion about what love about our rangers. Even a used flowmaster muffler takes time to break in. I had the American Thunder 40 series twice. The first one I didn't get to keep, but the second one it took almost 7 months before the sound improved with usage on a 3.0.

Cherrybomb is what I'm using now it sounds great under accelration yet has a deep rumble to it at idle. This is what I'm keeping (provided nothing else happens).

Default To Shane...

Nothing personal Shane we just got a little bit heated is all. Oh, thanks for the tip you gave me on that other site. The Escape Throttlebody bolted right on. After we got the old one off we found part of the Butterfly spring inside the upper intake manifold the other was still attached to the old throttle body. That was why it was sticking open. Plus for insurance we changed the throttle cable too like you suggested over on ranger forums.

Since the Muffler was used, theres no need for break in time, right?

I still think you put too high of expectations out of your exhaust. I've heard 3.0's in person with JUST a Flow Delta 40 on the stock piping and it sounded pretty decent to me....and I'm somewhat of a Ranger exhaust connoisseur. LOL!

Vid's SUCK! You can't judge an exhaust by some video you watched on youtube. I've recorded the same exact muffler and exahust setup in different vids.....with VERY different sound results.
