Default How to make it louder after flow 44

Installed a flowmaster 44 recently, it sounds good but I can't hear much of it from inside the cab. What can I do to get it louder so I can hear it while driving? I have it installed on stock 2" piping with a 16" long 3" tip strait out the back.
Should I dump it under the cab? What about gutting the cat closest to the muffler?

It's a 4.0 sohc

Take a sawzall to the exhaust system right behind the last cat, cut off and dispose all of that exhaust system, this will get the job done and make the desired noise. If you gut a cat you're going to get a CEL, but you would get a bit more noise. Just saying is all.

I already did a muffler delete, it was loud enough but got to ricey/raspy around 3000rpm. Maybe I should try dumping it under the cab?
I know it's a chambered muffler but does it get louder over time? Like is there a break in?

I've done both. No muffler dumped it's loud and drones but no back pressure. I currently have a thrush welded dumped under the cab it's got a great deep sound with no loss of back pressure.

----------

Yes I cut the last resonator off.

Does cutting the resonator off make it louder but also deeper? I don't want it to get ricey so

Bumping the cat-back size up to 2.25 or 2.5" will help greatly in exterior noise and interior noise. Ditching the stock choke spot is a big plus too....this is right after the last cat at the joint. It's 2.5" after the cat then kicks down to 2" at that 2-bolt flange.

If you really want to hear the exhaust, ditch the tailpipe after the muffler....it's called "dumped". And it's annoying.

Super 44 with tailpipe(s) and 2.5" tubing usually has some decent interior drone at about 2300-2500 rpm on the SOHC.
