Cleaned my throttle body and iac today, also removed the intake box snorkel. Idles way better now and sounds cool lol. Seems to have a bit more in it at higher rpms too now

Default Re: How To: Cleaning Throttle Body

I attempted this procedure this morning, but I stopped when I saw this hose from my Throttle body to the top of the valves (I think). It looks brittle and I want to find a replacement before I attempt to remove it. Can anyone tell me what this is, whats in it (I assume air), and maybe the Inner/Outer diameter of the hose?

All the pics and guides I've found for this process don't mention this hose. In the pictures the line is capped off on the throttle body.

Thanks!
- Chris

I found out this is the valve cover breather hose, if anyone else encounters it. Seems it carries oil fumes to the engine to be combusted for environmental reasons.

some Rangers it was fed into the air intake, I didn't like having oil residue in my air intake, which does happen, so I got a small breather filter, it looks like a miniature cold air intake, that clamps over the end and filters the oil out...after a year the inside of that bitch is black and filled with oil.
