have my gears for sale 4.10 ratio with 74,220 miles on them they are out of a 2003 ranger. rears are for the 8.8, fronts are for dana 35 SLA. I have the open carrer for the front for sale and the LS for the rear as well.

also have a BRAND NEW Solid Diff cover.

the front gears are 27 I believe and the rear 8.8 gears will fit 28 or 31 spline axles.

yep I am sure, it might fit with 4.10s or 3.73 with a little grinding on the inside of the cover but if it fit a 28 spline axle it would be on my truck.

31 spline axles only for the diff cover.

Mike do you happen to know if they make that diff cover for the 28 spline diffs? J/W...

It's not quite deep enough. The 31 spline axle has larger axle tubes that end up making the center housing slightly deeper. That is enough to cause slight interference with the ring gear. Like I said it can be made to fit with a little die grinding on the inside of the cover but I just went a different route.

I'm looking around for aftermarket covers with a drain hole that work with the 28 spline 8.8 axles and no one specifies whether their cover is for the 28 or 31 spine. Trick Flow doesn't, Solid doesn't, neither do any of the other brands it seems, Summit Racing's website doesn't, nothing. It's really annoying.

I had the same problem so I'm running a stock cover with a rustys diff skid on it.

What spline is the limited slip?

Nope gears and everything else are still available

its for a 28 spline axle.
