Only ever came in black and only appeared for 2 model years and only on the top of the line model and only on the manual trans models. hehe. But you already knew that. lol.

Actually no I did not know all of that, very interesting.

So what you are telling me 02 and 03 FX4 only ?

If you ever see a set or at least the 5-sp shifter boot and ring and the RCM Cover, please let me know.

You seem to be able to fond these things ?

I have only seem them in pictures.

I may have to go to Ford and see if they have them.

What years were they ?

What is an RCM? Let alone an RCM cover...never heard/seen that acronym before.

Sorry, didn’t think about it, it took me a couple of time to remember it.

Restraint Control Module; it is located on the floor under the dash, in front of the manual shifter.

There are two types of covers that I know of, one has two cup holders and is part of the Shifter boot setup, the other doesn’t have the cup holders and isn’t part of the Shifter Boot.

I am thinking about buying a Lokar Billet Aluminum Shifter Ring and Boot so I was thinking that I need to get rid of the Cover with the cup holders so the new boot/ring will sit on the floor.
I am thinking of mod’g the existing Cover, will probably be the easiest way, a little fiberglass and bing, bang, boom, got one.

It is the simple black cover in front of the silver shifter bezel. Two screws hold it in place.

Yeah....only 02 Fx4 Off Road and 03 Fx4 Level II w/ manual trans. I happen to have the "Ranger God" himself's old one, Mr. Bob Rwenzing.


Sandy, For what it's worth, I think you can make an 04+ Auto RCM cover work(the one everybody hates that doesn't have cupholders). And if you wanted to fab one if you get tired of looking, I've got no problems sending you one of mine to use for mock up.

of course the day i ask what that is it comes to get in my way...grr. tried installing a new cupholder console, but the RCM is in the way as the console is from an earlier model ranger...welp there is my little story...
