Default 7.5" 4.10 gear set.

My ol man has just got some new BFG 235's on his 4 popper. Its a little to doggy for him having 3.73 gears.

He is looking for a ring and pinion 4.10 gear set.

Looking to spend about $100.

Would also be interested in trade if you have a set and would like a set of 3.73.

Again, need them for the 7.5 rear end.

Thanks

I know of a set of 4.56 gears for a 7.5, professionally installed and just recently removed and only used for about 1500 miles for $100. They're Yukon gears, best there is. If you're interested, let me know I know they're not 4.10s but thought i'd throw it out there for ya

let me do the math on the final drive for his truck. with that gear set. I think that OD is like .84 ratio.

We just want to compensate the gears for the bigger tires but dont want to go extreme, he commutes alot of highway.

Alright no problem. Although the tire size isn't greatly large, I wouldn't say they're extreme, a lot of members with large tires run 4.88s but yeah, just let me know

might be too aggressive for the 4cyl though

yeah that might work out, original tires and gears at 70mph would be 2389rpm, with the 4.56 gears it would be 2919rpm.

I'll let the ol man know, see what he has to say about.

Thanks, I'll let you know either way.

It compensates for the loss of speed and stress put on your truck with bigger tires.

Or smaller tires for that matter...! lol

I swear I have seen trucks with something like a 45/10r8 or so lol

Little tiny bastards on little tiny rims and the inside of the tire is flush with the outside of the fender! lol

well, after 3 months we finally got the deal struck and gears are paid for! My dad heehawed around and made me look like an ass to this guy after he (dad) told me he wanted them, then I told the guy^^^^ we'll take them, then the ol man changed his mind and put me on the spot! I F*cking hate that shit. Anyhow, he finally realized that in order to maintain his original fuel mileage he has to run in 4th gear. So he said to go ahead and contact the guy to get them. Then had to wait for him to set up a paypal. Thats done and funds are sent and gears are on their way!!!
