Default 4:10 Gear set, front and rear-MI

These are the stock gears from my 2001 4x4 ranger. The front set is for a Dana 35 IFS and the rear set is for an 8.8" The gears have approximately 40,000 miles on them and there is no noticeable wear. These gears were removed a few years ago when i swapped in 4:56 gears. I'm asking $150 firm plus shipping for these as a set, i prefer not to separate the set at this time.

setting up the gears in the front diff is exactly the same as doing the rear gears. in fact its a little easier because you can take the whole center section out of the truck and set it on the work bench.

if you havent done gears before i wouldnt try it. not trying to be insulting but setting gears isnt for beginners. besides needing a couple special tools like dial indicator and base, micrometers and a press for pressing the bearings on, there is a trick to setting them up. im not usually one to tell anyone not to do something them self but for these i would have someone do it for you and maybe you can look over there shoulder while they do it so you can learn how to do it.

i wouldnt be able to tell you that. ive seen people pay anywhere from $200- $1000 depending on the shop. i would just call around to a few drivetrain shops and get a few different prices.

its a good possibility, check out this axle guide and find out what rear axle you have and you will know what ratio you have. http://www.fordrangerforum.com/drive...xle-codes.html
