Horseshoe clutch master cylinder retainer clip
Hey Guys,
I think I have just came across the most scandalous/stupid thing Ford has ever done.
Well, here goes ... about 18 months ago I pulled the engine and transmission from my 2007 Ranger Sport and when I went to pull the hydraulic line out of the transmission I noticed that there was a metal clip holding the line in instead of the older style. I pulled the clip out and put it up in a really safe spot because I knew that if I lost it I would be screwed.
Well, about a week ago I go for that clip and it was nowhere to be found.
I spent a whole day going through everything trying to find it. Then I just gave up and decided to call the stealership for another one.
And I'm thinking that they would charge me some ridiculous price for it but to my surprise, they told me that I had to spend $134 and some change for a whole new slave cylinder just to get that little clip.
The crazy part about this is that I can't go to a Pull-A-Part and get this because this was started in 2007. And the other thing is a lot of people have replaced their slave cylinder with a newer aftermarket one which does NOT have the little clip.
If anyone can track down one of these clips for me I'd be willing to pay $25 for it.
Thanks in advance,
Brian
