1993 Ranger XLT w/ NO POWER!
So here is my dilemma, I have a 1993 Ford Ranger XLT, 2.3 5 speed manual trans. Up until now I have had no electrical problems other than loose battery cables, changed alternator a year or so ago, typical stuff. I have no become stumped. I drove my truck from A to B perfectly fine and from B back to A again with no problem. I went to leave again and I turned the key and had absolutely no power to anything at all. No dome light, no door dinging, no horn, no lights, no nothing. I took battery to autozone for testing and it tested normal. I tried to jump it and absolutely nothing. It wouldn't even spark on the battery. Tried to bridge the solenoid and nothing also. What could cause this sudden and abrupt issue with no warning?! Any help greatly appreciated, thank you!

Testing that is my next course of action, but would that prevent me from getting electricity to literally every component in my cab?

Re: 1993 Ranger XLT w/ NO POWER!
According to Advanced Auto the battery is still okay, I have a friend bringing his Ranger over right now so we can hook his battery up to mine and see if its the battery. Fuses looked good when I checked yesterday. I am stumped, I figured I would get a dome light or something at the very least.

Re: 1993 Ranger XLT w/ NO POWER!
If you have jumper cables hooked up to the truck with the other to another running vehicle that would bypass the loose connection at the battery. The starter wouldn't cause the entire truck to not have power either. Sounds to me like you have a blown fuse or something with the key might be bad. The selenoid for the key might not be telling the truck to disperse power through out the truck.

Get under there and check your ground connection coming from your battery. The cable may be loose or frayed. That bit me once. Never again.

Re: 1993 Ranger XLT w/ NO POWER!
problem is solved! it was a bad connection to the solenoid. one of the connectors had corroded but was still lodged on the terminal, so the circuit was broken hence no power to ANYTHING beyond that. thanks for the assistance 4x4!

I got 216k on her, no way I was going to let something so trivial stop her dead in her tracks now! still runs strong with that great tone out of the flowmaster! once again thanks all!

Excellent troubleshooting!
A lot of people forget that the power not only has to get there, it has to have a way home (battery) as well.
