Default Horn not working

I just noticed that my horn isnt working I have checked the fuse and its good, when i push the horn I can hear a click but nothing else could it be the horn itself or is there some kind of relay I need to check.

I'm with STL, sounds like the horn itself is dead.

Berfore you replace it with a new one, try smacking it with a hammer. if they dont get used for a while sometimes they freze up. Dont try to destroy it but use good force. Hit it a few times then dee if it works. And if it dont, repeat the prosses a couple more times. I have personally done that numerous time with success. Hope that helps.

Interesting, I took my horn pad off, and apart, to see why it wouldn't work, and put it all back together beautifully, but still no horn. Will have to try the hammer trick I guess.

I checked every fuse, etc on that thing.

i have the same problem with my truck, it started ever since i blew a couple of fuses ( unrelated to the horn) and ever since then it stopped working, the reason i blew the fuses was becasue i was installing my interior light and a wire touched the steel roof. its not the fuse itself i know that, and the horn worked before this, i press the stearing wheel and it feels liek nothing is there anymore., i hear the click but no sound, i need help. could it be i need a new horn , or ive just messed up the wires or something.

Run a wire straight from your battery to the horn. If it blows, your problem is a fuse or the relay.

For a comprehensive collection of diagrams for YOUR truck....

Go to www.bbbind.com .

Select TSB Database, then Wiring Diagrams. Enter your truck info. From there you can choose what Category you need. It's all there, including wire colors to help you trace problems.

yes thats what ill be doing next weekend, spoke to my buddy i work with, and he can fix anything, he helped me install my rear shocks, and an aftermarket stereo and run all the wiring for my sub. that was the only thing i could come up with to fix the problem. if that doesnt work then i know its the horn itself and neeeds replacing.
