I want to install a 1000watt inverter in my stock Ranger XL, and I need to upgrade the alternator. It suggests a 150amp system with this unit. I am sure I wont be running at full capacity, but I want to be in spec. What do I need to make this happen. I am aware there are high amp alternators, but what other changes if any need to happen with this, and where can I find the best price on what I need. I want it to be cheap as possible (as we all do..), but I really am more concerned about reliability. Thanks in advance for your help.

^^^ Very nice write up. Regarding the alternator, I went to http://www.db-starter-alternator.com/ and bought the high amperage alternator from them.
