Default Door Trigger, Diode not working

Hello,

So I installed an Autopage RF-225 Alarm + Keyless into a 1999 Mazda B3000 as well as 2 DEI actuators to lock and unlock. The keyless part works fine, however the alarm goes off after locking. I've been told this is because of pulses from the GEM module. In an attempt to fix this, I soldered a 1N4004 diode in line with the green wire (trigger Neg) from my alarm before it connects to the yellow/blk wire in the drivers kick. However this seems to have had no affect on the problem and it still get the alarm triggering on the door just about 45 minutes after arming and locking the doors.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you draw a schematic? Did you solder the diode in backwards?

Well I don't know a ton about diodes, but I imagine that the rest of the door trigger based features would stop working if the diode was backwards. Here's a basic laymans diagram. Not sure if it's what you're looking for though.

Anyway you can draw the whole scematic including GEM, actuators, and alarm module?

Are you doing this as a positive switch or ground switch? I found the alarm manual for your model so I have those schematics.

As for the black/yellow wire I see that this is to the door ajar switch for the driver door.

What do you have the blue wire from the alarm connected to?

From what Im seeing the blue wire of the 7 pin harness from the module is the one to be connected to the yellow/black wire of your truck.

It would be rather time consuming to diagram the whole system. Again, everything works minus the door trigger portion, so that's what I focused on. The blue wire on the alarm is the Zone 2 Instant ground. This is meant to trigger the alarm in the event the hood or trunk or some other form of alternative trigger is setup. Otherwise if it is not connected it is unused by the alarm (Sees no flow therefor no trigger.) The door trigger ground (green wire) works so that when the system is grounded (i.e. door open) there is flow from the alarm to the ground and there is a trigger. However the problem is that GEM module pulses these wires 30 minutes after arming which causes the alarm to see ground which triggers it.

At least this is how I read the problem.

The blue wire is for your door ajar switch, which is what you have the green wire connected to. The green wire isn't for sensing if the door is open or not.

Well you say that, but it senses door ajar as it's currently set up, with blue disconnected.

Ok so I think you are correct after reading more into this problem.

You could try this:

Since pin 1 violet wire is set up for positive triggered doors you could disconnect the green wire and wire the violet to your dome light feed.

When the door is opened the GEM will turn on the dome light and thus act like a positive trigger door pin.

That make sense?

Yes that's certainly a possibility i will look into, however i would like to know why dioding the GEM module didn't work in the first place. Unfortunately the customer support for autopage is pretty awful

So in case anybody comes across this via search I will post my result for posterity. Swapping from the negative door trigger to the positive door trigger wire on the dome light circuit worked.

It works with both doors open, no having to diode two separate circuits. It also resolves any issues with false door triggers from the GEM. So hopefully this helps the next person with this problem!

Glad to hear that suggestion worked.

I'm wondering if the other method didn't work because of the 0.7 voltage drop of the diode.

With a diode inline there is an automatic voltage drop of 0.7 volts. Its 0v on the ground side (band on diode) and 0.7 on the alarm module side. Maybe since the alarm always saw voltage on the reference wire and never 0v it acted weird.
