Temp Gauge Problem- All new components-Ford Dealers Clueless
Here Goes- My Gauge started acting up. It buries, then immediately recovers. I replaced the entire thermostat unit, both the sensor locate on the back of the block, and the sender on the block. I changed the water pump last week (the o-ring on the old one was so swollen I had to beat it out) The new Sender on the block seems about two inches shorter than the original, but they say it is the replacement used (tried one form napa and one from AA). I also have replaced the 4-way heater switch, and the reservoir pressure cap. Currently it will run for about two hours with no problem at all. It will then randomly start to overheat as I accelerate. The moment the gauge gets to the redline, it resets to the correct temperature. I have had a number of ford mechanics look at it, and they are clueless as to what it could be. Any thought or people with this problem?
