Default RECON Extreme Scanning Tailgate Bar

Does anyone have these? I got mine and it's turn signals are acting funny. They scan and blink randomly. It says connect to a 12v "hot" power source and I connected them to the tail lights. That wouldn't be the problem would it? The company sent me another one and it has the same problem. I'm thinking it might not be compatible with the truck as I have a 93 and the lowest they go on their site is 95 for the Rangers. Any help would be great. If I could get these to work properly that would be kick ass.

They just come on randomly? Or it only happens when you hit the turn signal switch?

No. The turn signals are on. It's just that they're supposed to be scanning turn signals. They'll scan a couple times and blink randomly then scan again. And when they do scan it's also wierd because they'll scan all the way and sometimes scan only half way. I was looking at a lot of reviews and it seems like if you don't have the constant 12v power supply connected correctly the scanning signals won't work correctly. Where would you connect the 12v if you had this STL?

Im not sure where on your truck there is a constant 12V power source at the back of the truck.

It doesn't just plug into the trailer harness? For constant 12V I think you will have to run something up to the fusebox or into the cab for a 12V like the cig lighter.

Nope it's not like other tailgate bars that plug into the 4 way harness.

Your going to have to do like RangerJustin said. Just run a wire from somewhere in the front of the truck back there.
