Default Need help asap with electric problem. No start/No crank/No power

Ok, so I started my truck about 30 mins ago. Was letting it warm up. Then, it dies.....

I open my door and see smoke coming from the hood. I open hood and the ground wire that runs to the radiator support was on fire, along with the lower negative battery terminal. I blow it out and unhook the positive quick like. The negative wire is completely melted down to the wire. Its about a 10ga wire.

I check things over and hook up the positive. Go to start the truck and it clicks once then everything dies. If I wait about 3 mins the truck regains power. Try to start and it dies.

All fuses are good, under hood and inside. I am getting power to the fuse block and power to the other side of all fuses. Battery shows 12.44v as do all of the fuses (both sides)

I checked the relays and they ohm out ok. I also check the fuse block side of the relays. The starter relay puts out 12.44 on (30) and 9.36v on (87) (85) (86). I also checked the blower relay and PCM spots. They put 12.44v on (30) and 9.36v on (87) and (86).

At no point do I loose ohm meter reading of power at the fuse block. Even when the truck has no power (lights, dash lights, blower motor, any key on)

Could it be the starter is shot? shorted out?

----------

Cause of short was power inverter fail. I have 0ga wire running from battery and also 0ga wire running to frame. It created a dead short.

The terminal got so hot on the battery that it melted the lead.

Well, it looks like just the starter is the problem. I removed it, connected battery and opened the door. The chime went off. I went ahead and hit the crank and the power stayed on this time. I guess we'll see what happens with a new starter.
