Default Electrical Overkill?

I'm still yet to install my sound system (total of 390 watts), however this is going in soon... I also want to get an power inverter for my mobile office. This will be used only in case of an emergency if my laptop or printer dies, or if one of my power tool batteries die as well... I have an optima yellow top battery, and the truck will always be on when the inverter is being used, but is this over kill for my electrical system? Thanks

Rafal

I think as long as you have the inverter hooked directly up to the battery, you should be fine... dont run it through the 12V sockets... also, get one thats at LEAST 400 watts... My 17" laptop is almost too much for it. it could handle my 15" pretty good tho.

Without electrical specs of the devices you plan to use, then there is no way to know.

hm... I wanted to avoid having hooking it up straight to the battery and running more cables through my cab, the lap top is again only a mini netbook, and 90% of the time it will be running off the battery, I just want to have something in case of an emergency

Well you may no have to. But once again, without electrical specs of the actual products, this is not a question that anyone can answer.
