whats this one for???

so i was behind the radio bezel today and found a 4 pin wiring harness connection that i can't find a home for? does anyone know where it goes? Its located on the aux plug side electrical taped to the wiring harness for the aux plug...

any and all help would be greatly appreciated

have you owned the truck scence new, if not maybe some wired something in???

sorry no pics but its a factory connection connector has a ford part number on it but the dealer wont help me out... will try to get pic tomorrow...

your truck doesn't have fog lights does it? if it doesn't that might just be the wire for the fog light switch, its usually under the aux plug.
i dont know if ford would put the wire in for fog lights if you dont have them, it could just be the way they are made.

Did you or have any audio changes been made?Just a guess but previous Ford premiun sound system?

Is is plug fat and yellow(fog light)? Or skinny and gray(4x4 switch)? My guess is that its just an option that is wired into the ford harness even tho your truck didnt come with that option.

it is the clip for the fog lights thanks for all your help guys... now i'm trying to get the items to install the ohc and was wondering since i don't have a gem for the power windows, locks, mirrors etc how would i go about wiring this in and making it work in my truck?

Console Power (Explorer Yellow/Gray at console)-

2004+ on Ranger: Black/Pink at radio harness

Speed Sensor Input (Explorer Gray/Black at console)-
2004: Gray/Black at Smart Junction Box (brown connector)
2005: In bundle of wires by emergency brake

Map Light Power (Explorer Lt. Green/Orange at console)-
2004+ on Ranger: Lt. Green/Orange at dimmer module

thanks for the help stl now i just need to know where the other 5 wires coming from the harness go, i know i still need to get the temp sensor for the gauge to work is there a compass sensor?

The other 5 wires are for the auto dimming mirror

thanks man the gray/black wire that goes to the bundle by the ebrake, what color wire does that hook to?

It is also a gray wire with a black line

ok guys update i have the console in and wired now i just have to splice the vss wire in by the e-brake and it'll be complete, check back later for an eatc conversion on my truck... thanks to all who helped w/ my questions on the ohc install i can't thank you enough

Yeah thanks man finally got the vss hooked up today and had to recalibrate the compass because when i went to work today it only read sw and s now its reading all the directions.
