alright so i have a ranger that wont charge the battery i am just going to make an attempt to insure i dont kill myself taking the stupid alternator out again.

issues:
1. well she ain't holding a charge but the battery has no issues getting charged at autozone and holding the truck for about 6hrs.
2. the alternator passed for the voltage reg. and alternator itself. when put on the tester at orielly.
3. left the truck running with all the lights and and radio blaring and it didn't dim didn't whine didn't complain for an hour plus.

my attempts to fix it:
1. cleaned the shit out of the alternator took backshell off sprayed a can of WD40 through it for the better part of an hour. this had the truck running off of a jump for about an hour then the truck died.
2. got the battery charged at autozone it passed all the tests they had for it and took a charge without an issue. truck ran for two days and died. (about 6-8hrs up time)

i have a rebuilt alternator sitting in the back of my truck i'm going to throw it in there and see how she does but is there anything else it could be?

Is there a fused link that could have blown?

checked the fuse box and everything looked good

Sounds like there may be a short somewhere, putting a parasitic drain on your batt. I would start looking for any damaged wires or connections on the truck. Could be anywhere. You might wanna swap the alt. though since you already have a replacement. If that doesn't fix the problem then at least you can cross that off the list and look elsewhere. swapping the alt. shouldn't really take to long. I remember mine was pretty easy.

i know i have a simmilar draw problem ive in the last 5 months narrowed it down to the head lights some where its almost as if the alt isnt charging when the lights are on next step when it gets a bit nicer out is starting to replace the wiring fun fun

new alternator fixed the issue sometihng must have been still messed up on it cause it still passes the alternator tests at autozone and orielly
