That doesn't prove anything. He still could have had a loose conection and when he changed out the starter and starter relay, it fixed it. Try again newbie.

Read the description of the problem. Starters don't prevent lights from working.

Listen to FireRanger. The lights do not work. the starter is not working and it will not take a jump. The cables and or connections from the battery to engine and starter are most likely bad.

1999, Reg Cab, 2.5, 5 speed, 145k. (Sent from my DROID BIONIC using FRF App)

(on my trk) there were two old rubber fusible links on the drvr side insd the engine well. One day my pwr wndows stopped working n the motor didnt turn at all. I replaced both links ...and made a mental note that the other link went to the headlights!! Just a thought maybe it is relay or fuse.

I was able to jump the truck, i think the terminals didnt have a good connection. Or the battery is bad
