it all depends on how much you want to pay curently i am running 2 10" kickers comp subs that are 250 watts each in a sub zero box with a kenwood 500 watt amp im satisfied with it but i plan on putting 2 12" Dbxi earthquakes in a custom box and a tnt 10,000 watt amp but honestly its all about the money

I went the simple route and went with an infinity basslink, plenty of bass for me, and only need to run a few wires.

I have 2 Sony 10s that are 1000 watts each and a 1200 watt amp in a regular cab. My dad helped me build a custom box. For the box being as small as it is, it sounds really good. I got out of my truck today and left it playing on a good bass CD and went inside my house and the door and windows were rattling. The reason I got what I got was becuase Pep Boys was getting rid of all of it because it was last years models or something so I got it super cheap. The speakers were $48 and the amp was around $90. With an extended cab you don't have to fill it up with speakers. I would but thats just me But because of the room, you can have a bigger box which is better and more room to mount the amp and all that. Mine is crammed behind my seats. Really 2 10s or 12s sound great with a good amp. I think there is more to the amp than the speakers. You can have the best speakers in the world but if you don't have anything to power them, its a waste. And a good wiring kit is important too. One that is rated for the watts you will have. I used Scosche. It was around $35 and I filled out their survey card and they sent me free stuff.
