Keyless entry fcc ID
Anybody have a 2000 ranger can give me the FCC ID of their keyless entry key fob?
I've tried several but I think the Junkyard keeps giving me the wrong one.

The FCC ID has nothing to do with the encryption code of the keyless entry

My understanding is that the FCC ID tells what frequency it operates on and the operating mode. If you go to buy a fob the first question they ask is the ID. You are correct that the encryption code has nothing to do with the FCC ID, but before the vehicle can be programmed to the encryption code is needs to hear it, and it won't if it's being transmitted on the wrong frequency, hence the ID.
