Tilt makes it easier, but I don't think it's needed.

I have a 94 ranger, ive got a black and red theme. Im waiting for a set of led's to come in from superbrightleds.com in the mean time i scratched off most of the green, left some cause i thought itd look good but itll be red as soon as everythings apart again. I used red sharpie over the clear on the back and left the stock lights in. This is the TEMPORARY product

The brightness is at 100% in the one where it looks whitish at the top.

If you just need to change a bulb, depending kn the year, it could look like this. Just take off the clear cover, and cluster bezel. You'll have full access to the five 194 bulbs.

Hey all I no longer have a Ranger...not by my choice. While on a trip thought the Smokey Mountains. Some idiot texting was in the middle of a curve. I turned so they would not run over me and went off the road...a 120 foot drop and hit a tree almost the size of my truck head on. Totaled my Ranger. Broke the engine loose even broke my seat.I was air lifted out. My family and even the emt's that came by to check on me afterwards said they didn't see how I am still alive. I sure was being looked after that day.
After shoulder, 2 knee, 2 eye (right knee and eye, both time) and neck surgeries... I am selling a few items I bought and didn't install. Just drop me a note if might need somethings... a few items have already been sold.
OH YEA...The ******* in the black import...never stopped!!! Had it not been for 2 cars the "A-HOLE" passed a few sections before hadn't saw me go over.. I might have not lived. My truck was hidden by brush.
Thank GOD for Katie and her two young boys and for Ed & Ruth. Ed & Ruth stayed with me, while Katie drove til she got cell phone reception..

Thumbs up Re: Instrument Cluster Bulb Replacement

SMOKEY MNT. ROB - You're the best. Your guide was amazingly easy to follow and save one exception it completely covers the 2001 model Edge edition 4.0L.

There are three screws holding the instrument panel cover, not two (big deal).

Because I wasn't able to pull out the bulbs by hand (I was afraid of breaking the circuit board) I used a standard pair of pliers to turn them. If you put them at the wide setting they work perfectly. I finished the project in about 35 minutes.

You're the best!!

Has anyone replaced the small 74 bulbs in the dash? I've done all leds but now going to change the smaller indicator lights such as turn signals, seatbelt...etc They are all 74 type bulb but plan on changing to LED. I was told not to change the battery icon bulb because that needs a specific resistance in order to link the battery and alternator... Can't find the thread at the moment but found that if that bulb goes out then the battery doesn't charge...etc.

Just wondering? I'm ordering the LEDS now but figured I'd ask to see if anyone has pictures...

Thanks,
-Nigel

Hey,

So I had trouble removing the old bulbs from the black holders. Is there a trick to it because I was unable to pull them out after a half hour of trying. The bulbs would not come out of the black socket.

Mine were the same way, my trucks about 14 years old. On the ones that wouldn't come out I just used some pliers for some leverage. They twisted out very easily with the pliers. Just be careful
