Default Cruise Control

So my 2000 Ford Ranger did not come with cruise control on it, but I definitely miss it. Now I found these cruise control switches online that are from a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT. Are there already attachment points somewhere in the steering wheel that I could attach these to? Or is it just a pointless attempt? I know that the instrument cluster has a light for the continued speed, but I guess it would be really pointless for Ford to put in all the wiring for a cruise control and the only thing they didn't put in were the controls. if anyone knows anything about this please let me know.

I believe you will also need the steering wheel. that would come with a truck that has cruise.

Plus may need some other things like relays and the throttle servo thingy

yeah, so basically not worth trying to get the factory cruise control and just go with one of the aftermarket ones.

If you had a truck you could just pull the parts off of it would be worth it

But finding a junk yard with 1 truck that has everything you need might be hard

i'll keep an eye out for it next time i head out there. i had a feeling that the truck wouldn't already have the connections needed, that would just be too easy.

My buddy bought everything he needed for his 2002 Dakota. The steering wheel buttons mounted right up (just had to take the steering wheel apart) (I don't remember how we did that), we ran wiring to a unit that bought for under the hood. It actually was pretty easy to hook up. I think everything cost him about 250.
