Finally got around to putting an after market radio head unit in my 2004 Edge 2wd Ex cab. So I removed and unplugged and re plugged in the stock head unit and then a few minuets later discovered i couldn't roll up my windows or use the radio at all... completely dead. Also, fuel pump (I Believe) is making a weird noise. I was thinking it was maybe a blown fuse (checked didnt find any)or an anit theft problem? not sure, anything helps.

Possibly a short in the wiring, which is why the battery cable is supposed to be unhooked. I removed the original radio in the wife's Ford Edge last November to send for display repair. When it was sent back, I reinstalled the radio, but I didn't unhook the battery cable either time. I must have lucked out because it is recommended, yet I had no issues.

Disconnecting the battery is completely unnecessary for this.

You most likely missed a fuse. Look again.
