Default Won't start - Theft light flashing

1999 XLT 4x4 auto, 4.0L - I had to jump it get home today (dead battery), and I figured I might have a sneak current somewhere drawing my battery down, as the voltmeter on the dash showed good voltage as I drove home after the jump. So I disconnected the hot lead of the battery and took an ammeter to it. Everything off, doors closed, key out, I'm pulling 2.5A . Started pulling fuses. After pulling #25 & 26, the current drain issue went away, but now my PATS seems to have gone back to some default whereby it won't recongnize any of my 4 programmed keys (that all used to work before, of course). I pulled the battery cable again, and let it sit unconnected for 5+ minutes, then reconnected - still no change - key in, turn to on, dash lights light up, but Theft light continues to flash, and no start (no click, nothing).

Is there a way short of hauling this pig to the stealership of getting the ECU to recongnize my keychips again?

Thanks in advance!

You could have a local locksmith come out that's equipped to reprogram computers and set you up--just did that this morning...it set me back $157 and I got a dupe key made.

Well, I think I've got it figured out - when I was pulling fuses like a madman, I thought I was keeping track of where each went, but it looks like I got them back in the wrong sequence and left one out. Looked more carefully at the book and reinstalled the fuses per the manual, and at least now the Theft light comes on solid then goes out when I turn the key to on. Now the starter clicks, so that's a very different problem (and one that's much more easily / cheaply fixed! )

I'll jump it tomorrow and take it back to the store I got my battery from, and have them give it a test and probably replace the battery.

Thanks for the help, all!
