Aloha. I went to start my Ranger the other day, and all it would give me was a loud clicking/grinding noise. I naturally assumed it was my starter, so I bought a new one, slapped it in, gave my battery a good charge and tried again. The car didnt want to start, but did eventually, and then died on the road about 3 miles later. It was giving me the clicking noise. To be clear, the noise was coming from my firewall, NOT the flywheel/starter. So I got a new battery, new battery cables, and a new starter relay (the big round guy on the firewall), and after replacing all that, When I turn the truck on, the electrical comes on, but the starter clicks once and then nothing. If I try this several times, the positive battery cable gets hot.

At this point Im lost, can anyone help with some ideas? Mahalo.
