Default Speedometer Quit

Anybody have a guess on my speedometer. I got in it after towing it 823 miles behind a big truck and the speedometer doesn't move. The miles rack up fine, but no speed. I changed the sensor on the transimission and the one on the back axel and nothing. I checked the fuses and they all look fine. It's a 1997 Ranger

Was it towed 'backwards'? Snapped cable and/or connectors.

97's dont have a speedo cable, its electronic.

Question is the speedo dead or is it something else.

Obviously by the miles still "racking" up this means its not a sensor. The odometer and speedometer go off the same signal. Something is internally wrong with your cluster.

Yes the Odometer works fine. I didn't know if they came off the same sensor or not so I replaced them. It would seem like a power problem to the gauge but the fuse looks okay.

Ford may have some problems but at least they made them self repairing
