The tone generator is internal to the Generic Electronic Module. You can't eliminate the GEM because it controls several functions like power windows, wiper/washer and interior lights.

There is a simple procedure in the owners manual to allow the owner to turn off the Beltminder feature. If you don't have an O/M, there's a link to online manuals in my signature.

thanks for all the replies.. it is not the wire under the seat, and i can not enable the warning chime...its my cluster light the seat belt light dose not work i replaced the bulb and no go..the rest of the cluster works fine.... i was told by a mechanic friend to disconnect the speaker...
thats what i want to do.. disconnect the little speaker for the seat belt chime...(The tone generator is internal to the Generic Electronic Module. You can't eliminate the GEM because it controls several functions like power windows, wiper/washer and interior lights) do not want to eliminate electronic module... just the speaker....
thanks again....

There is no separate speaker in 2002. It is internal to the GEM.
