Default Reverse lights not working

1999 Ford ranger 3.0 5 speed : reverse lights don't turn on when it's in reverse. Is there a sensor or switch I need to clean/replace?

Thanks, Dalton.

Checked & changed the bulbs, checked the fuses and as much of the wiring as I could find. No luck

Brake light switch?? I don't know how that pertains to the backup lights...

How do I access the backup light switch on the tranny? It's 13 years old and needs to be replaced!

Driver side of the tranny 2 wire plug going into it for the manual trans. It unscrews I think 3/4" wrench or something larger like so
