I was using an 8awg. So I need bigger than that?

I have the same love for bass as the next guy but you really just need to start upgrading your trucks power output and not so much your components. It's not cheap but if you want good quality bass it's way worth it. I roughly spent 800 just for the following not including the amp, subs, and deck : a 1200 CCA battery with 4 gauge wire for my ground and power for the amp. As well for the battery ground, power and 240 amp alternator. All kicker hyper flex. New higher end RCA cables will help. And always make sure you have a good ground for your amp with your cable as short as posable. I run 2 10 jl w3v3 in a vented box with a kicker 1000.1 ZX with a pioneer avh-3300bt. And it hits harder than 90% of the cars around my town (sf, bay area)
