Default red/green wire

Hi, I just bought a 97 Ranger 4cyl with the dual ignition coils. It doesn't start unless you roll it and pop the clutch or spray injector cleaner in it. Once started it runs fine, but is a little sluggish at highway speeds. The previous owner claims to have changed the fuel pump, filter, timing belt, and ignition coil closest to firewall. I changed the pressure regulator for the fuel as it was slightly leaking. I notice a red wire with a green strip that is between the two ignition coils and is stripped on the end. The wire goes back into the run headed for the computer. It is the same color as the middle wire on the plug for the ignition coils. Any ideas on what that wire does, goes, or belongs? Thanks.

Don't know about the wire. But you should check your fuel pressure. It should about 65 psi. This sounds like a fuel problem, not an ignition problem.

Yea sounds like fuel. Have you checked if you're getting spark?
