Code 29 - No dome, wipers, speedometer
A while ago I swapped my dome light for the Mustang version and recently it stopped working. Found out that one of the screws was too short to reach the frame and complete the circuit. So I found a longer screw, took it apart, and like a dope I installed it backward and ZAP. No more dome light. I figured I had blown the fuse so I put the cover back on and started the truck (I was leaving work when I did this).
After starting I had the airbag light flashing a code at me, 2 - 9. I had the 4-6 before but had no clue what a 2-9 was. Then on the way home I noticed my speedomter was not moving, nor was the oodometer.
I checked my owners manual but didn't see any fuses that would fit this error. After some internet searching I saw that a 2-9 was unlisted and read suggestions from "speed sensor on the axle" to "replace the RCM".
Then on one site (can't remember where), someone mentioned they had a Mazda B2500 and that in his fuse panel he has the wipers, dome light, and speedometer all on the same fuse. I ran with it and checked all the fuses that had "instrumenter cluster" in the description. Turned out it was #26, 10A fuse. Replaced it and now everything works fine again!
Just thought I would share. I saw other posts with the same problem and fix but thought I would throw it out there that I had the 2-9 code accompanying my errors. After replacing #26 the A/B light is off.

Re: Code 29 - No dome, wipers, speedometer
Bigkehoe, Your post was both timely and spot on. I've been fighting the same problem for a week. That fuse controls the G.E.M. which controls the speedo, wipers, etc. It turned out that my daughter was looking for a blown fuse for the fan. She pulled out some fuses to inspect them, pulled #26 out and put it back into slot #30. (unused, and right below #26) Put a fuse in #26 and bingo! Everything works.

Glad it could sorta help haha
I kinda figured that #26 controlling the GEM is what affected the other functions, just seemed odd since the wiper motor and dome light are both listed under different fuses

Worked for me! I'm kind of getting used to Fords retarded combinations of what it groups together under different circuits. It's like writing with your left hand...
