Default bypassing the transponder key???

so i thought i was smart last night, figured i could order regular key blanks and zip tie the original transponder key under the column somewhere and all would be good. wrong! it didn't work. i have to look into this some more, i am sure it can be done, as they do similar setups for remote start.

You just need to attach it closer to the key cylinder. Like glue it right on top of it under the plastic trim. It should work.

FireRanger is correct as when my alarm and GPs were installed , the key blank was right next to the ignition . I wish I took a pic of it ...

the alarm remote start was just installed and it fixed that problem. not sure how much the dealer would charge to reprogram the key, but it definitely offset set the cost of the alarm. and now spare keys only cost a couple bucks!

Tape the old head the (transponder part) to another keys head, and turn it in the ignition.
