Default Another Battery Backwards story. HELP

Battery was hooked up backwards for perhaps a minute. Did not attempt to start before I discovered the error. After correcting the polarity, truck starts just fine. All electrical systems work (horn, lights, blowers, etc.). Just no charging current from the alternator. The big 125 mega fuse was blown and replaced, but to no avail. All other fuses in dist. box (and panel box) check out fine.

There is one tiny diode that plugs in inside the dist. box. I used an ohmeter to check continuity. Unsure if it's OK or not. It is letting current flow just one way, but I'm reading a resistance of about a megohm. Is that normal?

After reading the forums, I see alot of talk about fusable links. Do I even have those on my 2000 Ranger 4x4 4L. V6? And if so, where are they?

OR did I simply blow up the alternator and need to replace it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
