Default Airbag Light Flashing/horn not working

I was in an accident recently, i rear ended someone kinda hard. both airbags went off. I picked up replcement airbags at pick n pull. i put them on but the air bag light still flashes the same. it blinks once then 9 more times. this repeats 3 more times for a total of 40 flashes. happens before and after replacing airbags. now im assuming i have to reset/replace the airbag sensor module, or crash detectors. can someone tell me where to find this, and if possible provide pictures. also i thought that the horn was wired in with the driver airbag. but i guess not, same goes with the cruise control, its not working either. any help will be appreciated

you are correct, you will need to replace the control module for the air bags. it's located behind the floor mounted cup holders. but you will also need to replace the clock spring. it's a ribbon cable that mounts behind the steering wheel. it supplies power the the bag, horn, and cruise. so if all three aren't working, it's bad as well. requires pulling the bag out, pulling the steering wheel.

just make sure you disconnect the battery before doing anything with the airbag system...it doesnt take much to set them off

I have looked under the cup holders and behind the psngr airbag switch and it is not there. I looked it up and found that should be behind the pass airbag or near the computer, I coulnt tell exactly from the diagram. I found one under the cupholders out of a 99 ranger at pick n pull. But its different on my truck. Any ideas?

i was under the impression that ford moved it under the dash, on top of the trans hump, behind the cup holders in 98. 97 and older srs computer is behind the passenger kick panel. might look there.

It must be 98 and older because I was at pick n pull today and saw both a 99 and 2000 ranger with it under the cup holder. Does the design of the module change? Or is the module on later models actually part of the computer? All I saw behind the pass air bag is the anti theft module. And the computer is mounted under the hood on passenger side, that's all I could figure that would be it.
