Default Electric Windows - open when ignition is off

Hi Guys,
Has anyone changed the wiring so that the electric windows can be used when the ignition is off?
Is it as simple as changing the wiring to power the windows from a fuse that draws power from a live wire, rather than the ignition?

Yes, I want to be able to open and close the windows without the key altogether. I suppose you can wire it to open when in AC mode, but that defeats the purpose for me, as you still won't be able to open the windows without the key in the ignition

I am busy replacing the head at the moment, once the truck is running again I'll look for the wires and try to change them, shouldn't be too difficult...

I have already added additional 12V power sockets that are live al the time, i.e. you can use 12V appliances without the key, like charging cellphone, etc. I simply added an additional fuse box and are drawing power from there...

BTW, I have a big 102AH high cycle battery installed and will probably add an additional battery in the new year, so the risk of draining the batteries are very small...

Sounds dangerous IMO... it's like leaving the truck unlocked all the time...

up until the late 1960s all GM cars could operate the power windwos without a key... they were direct connected like power door locks and seats are today.... (bypassing the ignition switch)... Look at your door locks and run the window wiring the same...
