Default Turn signal flasher location?

finally decided to upgrade to LED lighting. I picked up the EP-27 flasher like i have read on here that has been recomended. now, does anyone know where the flasher is on a 2011 model. i looked in the fuse box on the passenger side, not there. looked in the fuse box under the hood, not there. i tried looking under the dash, i didnt see anything but i could just be missing it.

Under the dash at the driver foot area. You can kinda feel around up there for a long square piece. It is blue and just unplugs

would be easier to wait until daylight and take the bottom panel off the dash?

You do not need to remove panels. It is accessible by just looking under there. Little black box, open the cover, and pull the blue flasher out.

Removing the panel requires more then just a few bolts and removing you gotta remove more parts. Easier to do as I said and matt said.

I'm looking for the flasher relay under the steering wheel on my 2011 XLT, but I'm not seeing a black box big enough for the replacement EP27 to fit in. Any more suggestions?

Should be under there - I haven't heard of them moving it for the "later years" or anything.

Sort of have to look 'up' from down near the pedals (IIRC - The target relay is blue on the later models & yellow on the older ones). I also think some of the older models were not contained under the 'snazzy' black box & cover setup - but were located in the same general area (visible by standing on your head). lol

Here are some random pictures showing the locations & items:

Flasher location on 04+ models:

FWIW, the flasher shown has the OEM electrical removed and the EP27 electrical installed. A little trimming is required. Benefit is, you can now use the OEM retention for the flasher rather than leave it dangling. You need not remove the front panels to access the flasher, simply look up from behind and slide left/right (ie, door-to-door).

I ended up involving a mechanic on it before I saw your replies. My location didn't have the black cover and turned out to be a little different than what some had said it should be. But thanks for your replies.

changed out the turn signal relay. So far so good. The 2011 Ranger has the relay located on driver side right above the OBD port
