Default Dimmer (or lack thereof) issue

Hey there fellow forumists -

Have an interesting issue that I didn't see covered already ...

My friend and I have rangers - 87 and 92. Both are suffering from the exact same issue - the dimmer does not work for the panel lights. So - lights can be on, with panel lights on, and if you spin the headlight knob to dim panel lights go off. No intermediate dimming occurs. Can still spin the knob to turn on dome light (panel lights off).

Anyone else run into anything like this?

Old and worn out. Should be a pretty cheap part to replace.

Default Not the switch

We have already changed out the entire switch for the headlights. Still won't dim. One of those gremlins - we thought since it was the same issue between two trucks, someone else might have figured it out.
