on my ranger below the steering wheel. in between the brake release,and the hood release.there is a rectangle hole,with a black plug in thingy,what is it????. i assume it might have something to do with,brakes,tow package?????
i can't find anything in the manuel.am i right,or am i way off base???

On-Board Diagnostics, or OBD, in an automotive context, is a generic term referring to a vehicle's self-diagnostic and reporting capability. OBD systems give the vehicle owner or a repair technician access to state of health information for various vehicle sub-systems.

That port is where you can plug in a Scanner to review codes and possible check for errors in the trucks computer system
