Exclamation CD player dosent work
so i have the stock radio in my 03 ranger and the damn cd player dosent work. i put the cd in it makes this loud scanning sound then itll spit it out sayiing error.. someone help before i take hammer to my radio

i dont believe so.. but i do see a tune discs button under the seek button so i guess it might be

It would say 6discs somewhere on there, I have the 6disce, wasn't working, so I open it up, and see what was happening when powered. Well the arm that lifted the CDs didn't work, and would spit out a new CD in like 20seconds after pushing it in. The arm is used to pick up the discs from their holders to where they're played. And it would always make a 'searching' sound, thats soo annoying. The Fix: Dunno, just need a new CD player.

Sometimes stuff breaks down, and I have read in other forums (namely www.explorerforum.com) that there were issues with the 6 disc stock players. There is a guy named Duane Harrison that fixes them for a reasonable fee.

depends where he is because im not gonna drive cross country for a guy to fix a stock cd player if i could just get a new one put in

Why drive when UPS/FedEx will drive it for you?
Just scrap it and buy a new radio easy fix..

^ I agree with FFparker, thats why I never really tried fixing my 6disc, better off with an after market headunit w/ better sound then stock. Which I will be getting next month with 2more kicker speakers. And just maybe a Kicker 10" Bassstation. (But unlikely since I need to replace my fuel pump >.<)

Ford and GM are the #1 culprits for broken CD players. Yeah sounds like its time for a new one. I can sell you a great one cheap but dont wanna publicly plug my store when Ive been here less than a week.
