The computers at advanced auto parts, Pep Boys, and auto Zone don't specify which cable, and all three stores told me to remove the cable and bring it in - but I'd rather just go and pick it up, because I can't get a ride to the store

Are all of them pretty much universal and is it just a matter of getting the length right ?

Should all be universal and just get the length you need.

In order to find the length I need would involve me having to take the whole cable off, and then try to bum a ride to the auto parts store

2.
I figured that it would be easier to NOT have to take the cable off, and instead find out the length ahead of time, then drive myself to the store to pick up the cable, then go home, remove the old cable and put the new cable in

Would be easy to just follow where both go and give a est. of how long they are.

Have you thought of driving up there and removing them there? I have seen a lot of people working on their vehicles in the parking lot.

Then you could install the new ones there also
